Bike to Nagarkot (2,100 m-6,889 ft) (35 km) tour of Bhaktapur - 05 hrs.

After breakfast, we begin our cycling journey by riding east from Kathmandu toward the historic city of Bhaktapur Durbar Square, one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Nepal. The ride offers a mix of urban roads and scenic countryside. Bhaktapur is famous for its traditional Newari culture, ancient temples, and beautifully carved wooden architecture from the Malla period.

After exploring the squares, temples, and narrow brick streets of Bhaktapur, we continue cycling uphill along a winding tarmac road toward Nagarkot. After enjoying sunrise views from Dhulikhel, we cycle toward the sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site of Namo Buddha. According to Buddhist legend, this is the place where Prince Mahasattva offered his body to a starving tigress and her cubs, demonstrating compassion and self-sacrifice.

From here, we ride downhill toward the historic town of Panauti, a beautiful Newari settlement located at the confluence of the Roshi and Punyamati rivers. In Panauti we visit the ancient Indreshwar Mahadev Temple, one of Nepal’s oldest surviving temples dating back to 1294 AD.

Continuing along the Roshi River valley, we enter a narrow and scenic landscape before climbing about 300 meters to reach Lakuri Bhanjyang, a ridge that historically connected villages east of Kathmandu Valley. From here, we enjoy magnificent views of the Himalayan ranges including Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang Himal.
