Everest Base Camp Gokyo Ri Trekking is one of the most rewarding Trekking experiences in Nepal. Trekking in EBC and Gokyo Ri is giving a great introduction to a challenging hiking adventure in Nepal. There are many remarkable activities in this trekking. The trekkers gets most reward with reaching Everest Base Camp, hiking to kalapather with the best 360 degree viewpoints, crossing Cho La pass (5420m) and hike to Gokyo Ri for magnificent view of biggest glaciers and gokyo lake.

There are several valleys and beautiful sights in this hiking. The tranquil lakes, Nangumpa Glaciers, wildlife, vegetation and Sherpa villages are some of the highlights of the trip. The variation of magnificent Nature and local cultural exploration makes your visit wonderful experience. Hiking to Everest Base camp and to Kalapather the highest point of the trip 5550 meters is another significant of your trekking journey.

Everest Base Camp Gokyo Ri Trek starts with a flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. The view of the great Himalayan range and breathtaking scenery makes amaze experiences. We meet our Trexmount Venturers’ porters in lukla.  After the Refreshments and drinks, We will hike through the Dudhkosi River valley and pass through the Sherpa villages of Choplung, Ghat, and to Phakding.

This Everest Base Camp Gokyo Ri Hiking starts through the river valley. We make our way to the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park at Manjo where all permits will be checked. You start ascending after crossing the high suspension bridge of Dudh Koshi River to reach Namche Bazaar. You may see Mount Everest on a clear day for the very first time in your trip route to Namche.

The Namche is a large and well-known village in the lab of Khumbila mountain. It is popular for its busy Saturday markets, delightful restaurants, Lovely Hotels and bakeries. There are many shops and places where visitors can access ATMs, banks, post offices and so on . There is an extra day here to enjoy and explore the village to acclimatize the altitude. The following day, we will hike to Syangboche and Khumjung village and National park Museum for your acclimatization.

In the Acclimatization day of Everest Base Camp Gokyo Ri trekking will continue to explore the surrounding and Hiking around amazing vantage. You will hike to Syangboche as this place is offering 360-degree views, including Mount Everest and many more. Exploring quaint traditional villages of Khumjung and Khunde beneath the majestic and holy Khumbi-La is highlighted. These villages are located on a glacial valley which is the largest village in the area. You will visit the old monastery where the one and only place that boasts a Yeti scalp.

Everest Base Camp Gokyo Ri Trekking has another special place. A visit to the spiritual Monastery in Tyangboche is a paramount. This unique Monastery is biggest monastery in the region which is situated in the lab of the high mountains. The visitors are allowed to go and sit inside the Monastery premises. It would definitely makes sense of spiritual life after visiting the Tyangboche Monastery. We will continue hiking following the Khumbu Valley to reach Dingboche at 4420 meters. You will spend another night here to acclimatize and hike up to Nagkar Hill (4850M) viewpoint. The Trek continues to reach Lobuche situated at 4940M.

It is an significant day for you to hike up to Everest Base Camp today. You will start quite early to go to  Everest Base Camp situated at an epic altitude of 5,364 meters. You will make return journey to Gorekshep after exploring Everest Base Camp. Gorekshep is the highest place for spending a night on your trekking trip.

The Trek continues & hike into the highest point of the trip Kalapather at 5550 meters. Kalapather is offering 360 views with breathtaking view of the Himalayas & surrounding valleys including Ama Dablam, Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Lobuche, Khumbustse & many more. After all, We will commence the hike to challenging Cho La pass and move towards Gokyo Lake through the Nazumpa Glaciers.

There is a magnificent stunning view from Gokyo Ri including Mount Everest, Gokyo lakes & Nagjumpa Glaciers surrounded by amazing high Himalaya. We process descent and return back to Namche bazaar and to Lukla. Our Staff from Trexmount Ventures and export crew are always attentive to creating an awe-inspiring experience.

Itinerary

01Day

Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Our representative will come to the airport for transfer to the Hotel. After some refreshment in the hotel, Our Tour leader will make pre departure meeting in the Hotel or at our office. The meeting will cover trip-related information & collecting your Documents (passport copy, 2 passport size photos, Travel insurance).

02Day

Kathmandu: Free day or City Sightseeing (pay Locally for sightseeing).

After morning breakfast, free day for trek preparation. OR, you can do sightseeing tour in Kathmandu valley with visiting into fascinating heritage and cultural sites. There are few places that are worth to visit such as holy Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhanath, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Durbar Squire ( One is in Kathmandu, in patan and also in Bhaktapur), Museum,  monasteries, old historical Palaces and Gardens. Note:  this tour is optional so you can visit with place of your interest & pay locally. (Meals:B)

03Day

Fly to Lukla (2,886m-9468 ft) & trek to Phakding (2,640m-8,661 ft) - 04 hrs.

Early morning depart from the hotel for the flight to Lukla on reaching Kathmandu domestic airport board in a small plane Dornier or Twin Otter, flight offers great views array of snow capped peaks with Mt. Everest as the plane touches down after 30 minutes of scenic flight to Lukla, a unique airstrip with a runway with uphill slope, Lukla airport at present named after legendry climber Tenzing & Hillary Airport. After a time here for a while then start the walk to Phakding for overnight stop, the trek passes several villages and farm lands with great scenery of hills and valleys then finally reaching at Phakding village located by the Dudh Kosi (river). (Meals:B,L,D)

04Day

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m-11,286 ft) - 06 hrs.

After the first day walk, today the trek could be long as heads uphill at above 3,440 meters high at Namche Bazaar, starting the our morning walk crossing few time over the Dudh Koshi, and then reaching at an entrance gate of Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo. After checking the Park & Trekking tickets and permits, further walk leads on the bank of the river, then after the last high bridge an uphill walk for few hours all the way to Namche Bazaar, here we will have two nights in this large prosperous trading town –village as well the main centre and capital of Khumbu area with facilities of ATMs, Cyber cafes, stores, shops, restaurants, banks and fresh bakery with busy colorful interesting Saturday market. (Meals:B,L,D)

05Day

Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization.

An ideal and perfect place for rest day for acclimatization, at Namche take a short hike up to park museum which houses great range of information from mountaineering, flora – fauna and Sherpa culture and religions, this scenic spot offers a grand panorama of high snow capped mountains including Mt. Everest and stunning Ama Dablam, other options hike to Everest View Hotel for another beautiful views of the surrounding mountains above old Syangboche air strip. (Meals:B,L,D)

06Day

Namche bazzar to Tengboche (3850m) - 05 hrs.

This place is small with few tea houses however this is an beautiful stop for the brilliant view. Visit the Tyangboche monastery which  is a biggest monastery in the region where monks do prays. Your Guide will take you there to observe the prayer ceremony inside the Monastery in the evening or morning. (Meals:B,L,D)

07Day

Trek to Dingbuche (4350m)

Start descending from Tengboche through the mini forest where you have chance to see musk deer, cross the bridge get to another lovely sherpa village pangboche into the lap of Mount Ama Dablam and follow the Khumbu valley to reach Dingboche. (Meals:B,L,D)

08Day

Day trip to Nangkar hill (4800m) and trek back to Dingboche

Another acclimatization day here and will take the trip to Nangkar hill (4800m). This is lovely hike to see spectacular view  of the high Himalaya including Mount Makalu and lovely khumbu valley. (Meals:B,L,D)

09Day

Trek to Lobuche (4960m)

Lovely walking trail through the Ariel view of the mountains, climb 600 meter to reach lobuche, Steep ascending from Dhugla for less then a hour, there is a memory place for climbers on the top of Dhugla who was died in Everest climbing. (Meals:B,L,D)

10Day

Trek to Gorak shep and hike to Kalapather (5160 m.)

Start quite early in the morning from Lobuche, Hiking up to kalapather (5550 mtrs.) which is Major highlight and highest elevation that you reach on your tour.  It is an excellent viewpoint to observe the Mount Everest and spectacular panoramic mountains views together with Khumbu Glaciers and lovely valley. Overnight at Ghorakshep (5160 m.) which is also going to be your highest place to spending the night during your trip. (Meals:B,L,D)

11Day

Hike to Everest Base and then to Lobuche

Start again quite early in the morning after breakfast. Hike through khumbu Glaciers to reach amazing Everest Base camp (5363 m). You will be bliss to make your footprint into the dreamed place. Trek back to Gorak Shep have lunch & Descend to Lobuche.  (Meals:B,L,D)

12Day

Trek to Zongla (4710m).

This is an easy pleasant walking day & descend to Zhongla 2 hours. following the path that descends to yak herder’s summer pastures and enjoy the afternoon for the big day ahead tomorrow. (Meals:B,L,D)

13Day

Trek Over Tsho-la pass (Chola)5,367 m and Thagnag

Today, one of the long and a Big Day! Over high Tsho-la pass (Chola) after early breakfast, leading to a steep up and then crossing the glacier on the eastern side. The top of the pass at an altitude of 5,367 m festooned with Buddhist prayer flags, sometimes it can get quite challenging to traverse (in snow conditions), from the top with fantastic views of high mountains and of Cholatse Glacier then making a slow descend carefully to a small lake on the way to Thagnag for overnight stop after a tough, hard day walk. (Meals:B,L,D)

14Day

Trek to Gokyo (4790 meters) 2 hours.

This is an short walking day, You are going cross the Ngozumpa Glaciers which is biggest Glaciers in khumbu region. We climb a ridge from where the valley opens wide as the trail passes through Pangkha. Mt. Cho Oyu 8153 m dominates the skyline to the north as we climb the moraine on the left flank of the Ngozumpa Glacier; also we see excellent view of Taweche & Cholaste dominating the opposite of valley. First lake of Gokyo can be seen right after passing the Glaciers. The trail levels off towards the second lake, Longponga at 4690m. We finally ascend a path past the largest of the lakes Dudh Pokhari to Gokyo at 4750m. Gokyo is a typical kharka stone houses and stone walled pastures. 2h (Meals:B,L,D)

15Day

Hike to Gokyo Ri (5483m) and Trek to Marchhamo

We start early in the morning and steep ascending up to the top of Gokyo Ri (5483m). This is going to be ample rewards to a small hill which rises immediately to the north of the lake. There are stunning views of the supper Gokyo valley, the massive Ngozumpa Glacier and an incredible panoramic view of the whole Khumbu Himalayas, such giants as Everest(8848m), Lhotse(8516m), Nuptse(7861m), Makalu (8481m), Cho-Oyu (8153m) and Gychung Kang (7922m) and many others  mountain & Peaks can be seen. Those who explore the glacier and Gokyo peak are rewarded and back to the Gokyo Village in the noon. Trek continue to Merchhemo after the Lunch.  (Meals:B,L,D)

16Day

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m-11,286 ft) - 06 hrs.

It is easy walking trail with all descending to Phunge tenga via dole. We need to ascend an hour and then back on the good trail to sanasa from where you have trekked to go up and back to Namche Bazaar for refreshing and enjoying the lovely place. (Meals:B,L,D)

17Day

Trek to Lukla (2,886m-9468 ft) - 05 hrs.

Today, the last walk of this enjoyable, cultural and scenic journey ending at Lukla,our morning walk leads on the gradual winding path reaching at Lukla after a last climb of 45 minutes, in Lukla for lunch and last overnight stop, with free afternoon and to organize gratitude and farewell dinner with fellow staff and porters. (Meals:B,L,D)

18Day

Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

At Lukla the flight operates from early morning to Kathmandu, sometimes the flight time can get delayed due to unfavorable and bad weather, as per the flight time board in a small Dornier or Twin Otter plane for the scenic flight back to Kathmandu, on reaching at Katmandu domestic terminal Trexmount Ventures staff transfer you back to respective hotels in Kathmandu. (Meals:B)

19Day

Kathmandu

Free time in kathmandu.

20Day

Departure for home ward bound.

Today your last day in Nepal with great memories, amazing experience transfer to Tribhuvan International airport for final departure towards homeward bound or to next port of call.
