Overview
Ama Dablam, at 6856 meters, is the highest mountain in the Everest region. Ama Dablam is known as the Mother’s Necklace or Mother of Jewels because it stands tall with the lovely glaciers hanging alongside it like a gem. Similarly, Ama means mother and Dablam means jewel box, referring to the beautiful glaciers dangling.
Aside from the significant and refined name, the summit is a sight to behold. The stunning summit stands tall, encircled on all sides by glaciers. Also, the views from this magnificent mountain are breathtaking.
This Expedition takes you on an amazing trek in 31 days, following the iconic Khumbu Trekking Trails. With the best achievement of summiting the mountain at an altitude of 6856 meters, the 31-day Ama Dablam adventure will make your days in Nepal a memorable one.
Route Explanation
This Expedition takes you on a 27-day journey along the legendary Khumbu trekking trails. We’ll walk to Ama Dablam Base Camp, following the Everest Base Camp journey routes. We must first reach the Ama Dablam Base Camp because we will be climbing further up the Ama Dablam summit.
We will begin our journey in Kathmandu and travel to Lukla. When we arrive in the Khumbu region, we’ll take the same hiking paths as Everest Base Camp trekkers. Our journey to Phakding begins from Lukla. After a day of rest, we will proceed to the Namche bazaar.
After acclimating and recuperating, we’ll go to Pheriche via Tengboche Monastery, Dingboche’s picturesque hamlet, and other small villages. The wonderful mountain views may now be seen clearly.
The Ama Dablam Base Camp is a day’s hike from Pheriche. Our journey to the summit of Ama Dablam has begun. You’ll be climbing the peak for the following 13 days in order to reach the summit and return to base camp. The high camp will be your first destination after leaving base camp. After completing the technical section, you will proceed to Camp II and then Camp III. In between, you’ll need to take suitable acclimatization rests. Your next ascent will take you to the peak’s summit after you reach Camp III.
On the 22nd day, you will return to the base camp and retrace your steps back. You’ll pass through Namche, Pheriche, and Dingboche on your way back to Lukla. The adventure will culminate with a farewell dinner in Kathmandu when you return to Lukla on a flight to Kathmandu.
