Overview

The Langtang Trek is a heartfelt journey. Langtang Valley is one of Nepal’s most beautiful areas. And it was once a favorite among trekkers looking for spectacular scenery and unique culture. Similarly, heartfelt hospitality in charming homestay guest houses -all within easy reach of Kathmandu. Langtang Trek starts after exploring world heritage sites in Kathmandu. The scenic drive through the hilly narrow mountain road will brings to Sybru besi.

The Langtang Valley, on the other hand, is largely barren of visitors these days, as Langtang residents continue to reconstruct their lives following the 2015 earthquake. Survivors of the earthquake’s landslides were forced to flee the valley, but they have since returned to recover their country. Moreover, restore their houses, and re-establish their crops.

Similarly, trekking in this magnificent valley will help the inhabitants of Langtang rebuild in a sustainable and secure manner by providing much-needed money. Furthermore, this isn’t charity; it’s the business end of sustainable travel, where your travel choices may help local people maintain their dignity, culture. And way of life while also protecting their dignity, culture, and way of life.

Likewise, the walk begins in Syabru Besi, a small town. Around Kyangjin Gompa, you’ll climb through beautiful woodlands to high alpine meadows and yak farms (a Buddhist monastery). You retrace your steps back down the valley and drive back to Kathmandu. After an (optional) day hike to the summit of Kyangjin Ri (peak). Where the 360-degree vistas of the Himalayan mountains are absolutely breathtaking.

Consider adding a helicopter flight out of Kyanjin if time is short and money isn’t an issue. Not only will you save time and avoid having to retrace your steps. But you’ll also get some incredible vistas that you won’t be able to enjoy any other way.

If you’re interested in doing the Langtang trek, contact one of our local Nepal consultants who can help you plan it. Likewise, you’ll have an expert certified guide, a well-planned schedule, and the freedom to go at your own pace throughout the walk.

After visiting world heritage sites in Kathmandu, the Langtang Trek begins. Sybrubesi is via a picturesque drive along a rugged, narrow mountain route. This is on the way to the Tibetan border. This was a well-known commerce route in the past, and following the 2015 earthquake, it became a key Nepal-China trade route. Kerong, a commercial post between Nepal and Tibet, is located on the left bank of the river valley.

To begin hiking, we follow the right side of the Langtang River Valley. The walk leads to the Lama Hotel along the banks of the river, through lush green trees and deep valleys. Similarly, in this forest and river valley, there are many opportunities to witness animals, including Red Pandas.

Langtang Lirung (7,234 m-23,733 ft) and Ghengu Liru (6571 m-21,558 ft) offer breathtaking vistas. The south range includes Kimshun (6,745 m-22,129 ft), Shalbachum (6,918 m-22,697 ft), and a ridge of summits including Naya-Kanga (5,846 m-19,180 ft), Gangchempo, Fluted Peak. Shishapangma, the world’s 14th tallest mountain, borders the eastern corner (8,013 m-26,289 ft). We will return to Syabru Besi and drive back to Kathmandu with Trexmount Ventures staff after exploring the Langtang Valley Trek.
