Kathmandu Cycling Tour has opportunity to observe rural and traditional farm villages in the mid hills with impressive culture and customs. You will be riding into cool pristine, enchanting forested area full of rhododendron, pines, and magnolia trees.

This fascinating bike ride goes through ridge line north of Kathmandu valley.  Kathmandu Biking tour starts from Kathmandu valley and gets into the outskirt of kathmandu.  We will visit famous medieval Bhaktapur city and Explore the old Durbar squire, pottery farm and then heading north east to Nagarkot. Nagarkot is a popular retreat picturesque town offering Himalaya panorama with striking sunrise views. A small piece of Mount Everest can be seen from here. We continue our ride Nagarkot heading east . It is a lovely day of riding goes through the farm village, cool forest, ancient town of nala and Banepa to reach another charming place Dhulikhel.  The striking views of central Himalaya peaks along with beautiful sunrise and lovely farming field to explore.

We continue our next destiny to Namobuddha. This Buddhist monastery is a holy place for Buddhist. According to legend it was here that a king family from a near town came this place for the picnic and prince offered his flesh to a hungry sick tigress. you can see stone statue which marks the sign. This prince got incarnation and born as Namo Buddha. Explore the secrete site and monastery with monks on prayer. We descend from here. The rough road goes to the shanku village before heading towards sleepy traditional Panuti farm village. We observe local culture, its simplicity and ride another view point Lakuri bhanjyang. The tremendous views of Kathmandu valley and of snow capped peaks offering from here. We are descending to kathmandu and back to the Hotel.

Itinerary

01Day

Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Our representative will come to the airport for transfer to the Hotel. After some refreshment in the hotel, Our Tour leader will make pre departure meeting in the Hotel or at our office. The meeting will cover trip related information & the collecting your Documents (passport copy, 2 passport size photos, Travel insurance).

02Day

Bike to Nagarkot (2,100 m-6,889 ft) (35 km) tour of Bhaktapur - 05 hrs.

Ride starts early morning from Kathmandu, to reach the old medieval Bhaktapur city, an ancient city steeped with history of Malla period and old Newari culture, traditions and customs with many temples and squares, after exploring Bhaktapur, heading north to Nagarkot on the winding good tarmac road, climbing gradually on the 20 km to Nagarkot passing steep terraced rice fields and hamlets and then finally reaching the hill top at Nagarkot for overnight stop, if the weather is clear a super panorama views of Himalayan range from Ganesh, Langtang, Jugal Himal including Gaurishankar and Everest range towards far eastern horizon.

03Day

Bike to Dhulikhel (1,440 m-4,724 ft) (25 km) - 04 hrs ride.

From Nagarkot with views of fascinating snow capped mountains, morning ride continues on the winding path with gradual up through farm villages and cultivated terraced field on this remote and isolated place seldom visited area by westerners, the ride leads through nice forest with pleasant trail, biking continues with few ups and more downhill all the way to another beautiful and popular hill town at Dhulikhel, famous for Mountain Resorts with panorama of mountain range, this old Newar town lies beyond the eastern rim of Kathmandu valley with nice and comfortable resorts, hotels and lodge.

04Day

Bike to Namobuddha, Lakuribhanjyang (2100 m-6,889 ft) (22 km) - 04 hrs.

After a great moment with morning sunrise views over the snow capped peaks, starting the morning ride towards historical and religious area at Namobuddha, a holy site close to Dhulikhel, where the teachers, the perfect and supreme Buddha-at that time still on the path of learning-offered his own body without regret to a tigress suffering from great hunger. What follows is history of the supreme and renowned sacred site, from here ride to Panuati an interesting old farm village with great farming activities, Panauti village town least area by western travelers, Indreswor Mahadev Temple in Panauti the oldest existing temple in Nepal with history dating back to 1294 A.D.
From here following a small track along the Rosi River, beyond the town of Madhuban, to enter a narrow pristine valley and then ascend for 300 meters on a nice trail to reach the top of Lakhuri Bhanjyang, probably the oldest route east of Kathmandu Valley rim, connecting the ancient town and village with Panauti. The ethnicity of the people change as the ride descends from Tamangs, Thakuries and Chhetris to lowland Newari farmers.
From the camp side marvel the fantastic panorama views of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh, and Langtang with Guri Shankar mountain range.

05Day

Bike to Taudha (1267 m-4,156 ft) (23 km) - 04 hrs.

Today, biking on our classic off road journey on the back side of Kathmandu valley rim, avoiding tarmac roads wherever possible and from here on gets better with a mix trail (off road, downhill, single trail). This section is called as the jungle ride to route Godawari a beautiful spot with lush vegetation with botanical and natural gradens. From Godawari onwards back on undulating trail to Chobar, after Chobar then riding on tarmac to Taudha which is about 25 minutes of biking.
Taudaha with a nice serene pond, where one can observe different species of wetland birds on the marsh area around the pond of Taudha.

06Day

Bike to Dakchhin kali and ride back to Kathmandu (25 km).

This ride is mainly on a blacktop road. Long and generally gradual with vertical climb which takes about 2 to 3 hours. Our back up or support vehicle follows and with short break for refreshment at the top, with great views of the Himalayas.
Dakshin kali, one of the main and important temples of Nepal dedicated to Goddess Kali, pilgrims and worshiper’s sacrifices small animals and chicken, particularly male goats, this is truly a temple of sacrifice offering blood to idol Goddess Kali in a ferocious looks. This is especially seen during the Dashin festival (a big Nepali festival) and on Saturday.
Today an easy ride on a blacktop road with downhill back in the hustle bustle city life of Kathmandu.

07Day

In Kathmandu free day with optional tour.

Today a free day to check the bike conditions before packing or handing back if its rental / hired, options for short sightseeing tour around Kathmandu at places of interest and shopping for souvenirs.

08Day

International departure for home ward bound.

Today your last day in Nepal with great memories, amazing experience transfer to Tribhuvan International airport for final departure towards homeward bound or to next port of call.
