This wonderful Classic Everest Base Camp trekking starts with an interesting drive with scenic view to Jiri  and then to Bhandara from where you begins your trekking journey. You will trek through few passes and many nice traditional Sherpa, Rai and other ethnic people, There are few villages with old culture and custom around Kenja, Sete and over Lamjura pass 3,530 m high through enchanting forest of rhododendron, pines and oaks trees visiting, Junbesi, Takshindo, Nunthala, Kharekhola and entering the upper Solu Khumbu area near Lukla, from here onward on the busy trekking trail, after being on quaint path for many days at Solu region. On reaching near at Lukla where this adventure ends.

From here walk follows Dudh Kosi River all the way to its source higher up, passing nice neat villages of Choplung, Ghat and Phakding and heading higher through cool shade of forest lined with tall rhododendron, pines, firs and oak trees overlooking views of snow capped mountains.

After a good walk reaching at Monjo village and Sagarmatha National Park entry point where all TIMS and Park permits are checked and recorded of all the trekkers, from here crossing few bridges and leaving the last village of Jorsalle walking on river bed and then with a climb for few hours with superb views of peaks along the walk and then reaching the famous Namche Bazaar where the colorful houses serving as hotels and lodge are in U and amphitheatre shape.

At Namche which is a famous large village, and popular among the trekkers as it is located on the trail coming from both ways, Namche Bazaar holds busy Saturday market every week, the only place here with ATM, Banks, Post Office, Cyber, with numerous shops, delightful restaurants and bakeries.

After two nights here with acclimatization day, walk leads higher to another scenic place at Tengboche Monastery in the midst of forest setting with awesome views of snow capped peaks including Mt. Everest and the majestic Ama Dablam, here with time to visit this interesting wonderful looking monastery, after Tengboche leaving the tree lines and lush vegetation for arid and barren terrain heading towards beautiful Imjatse valley with great views along the way, walk leads higher up to Gorakshep after Lobuche.

From Gorakshep at 5,180 m where the actual route to Everest Base Camp and to Kalapatthar starts and ends, located beneath towering Pumori and Kalapatthar rocky hill, which was an early Everest base camp till 1970’s. After a nice rest heading towards our main destination of this trip to Everest base camp, walk on rocky moraines and ice to reach beneath the giant Mt. Everest at base camp at 5,364 m with amazing views of surrounding high mountains Lhotse, Nuptse, Lho-la, Lingtrin, Pumori and the tumbling long Khumbu Ice Fall which lies close to base camp.

From here with great experience and feeling high, return back to Gorakshep for the climb of Kalapatthar next early morning, a fabulous viewpoints with Everest at mere distance and overlooking arrays of snow capped peaks that surround this great scenic top. On completing Classic Trail to Everest Base Camp return journey on the same route all the way to Lukla for the scenic flight back to Kathmandu.

Itinerary

01Day

Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Our representative will come to the airport for transfer to the Hotel. After some refreshment in the hotel, Our Tour leader will make pre departure meeting in the Hotel or at our office. The meeting will cover trip related information & the collecting your Documents (passport copy, 2 passport size photos, Travel insurance).

02Day

Free day for trek preparation.

Free day for trek preparation. OR, you can do a sightseeing tour in Kathmandu valley with visiting into fascinating heritage and cultural sites. There are few places that are worth to visit such as holy Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhanath, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Durbar Square ( One is in Kathmandu, in patan and also in Bhaktapur), Museum,  monasteries, old historical Palaces and Gardens. Note:  this tour is optional so you can visit with place of your interest & pay locally. (Meals: B)

03Day

Drive to Bhandar (2,195m-7,201 ft) via Jiri (1,900 m-6,233 ft) - 9 to 10 hrs journeys.

An early morning drive towards east of Kathmandu valley and drive through Banepa and Dhulikhel with views of central Himalaya Mountain range. Follow the drive through the Bhotekosi river valley and uphill to Charikot village. This driving journey continued with the fabulous views of Gaurishankar and Melungatse peaks. We drive down to Tama Kosi river valley and ascending again to reach Jiri. This is a beautiful village and continue drive to Bhandara via shivalaya. The Distance from Kathmandu to Bhandara is 217 km and 135 miles and takes approx. 9 to 10 hours (Meals: B,L,D)

04Day

Trek to Sete (2,575 m-8,448 ft) - 05 hrs.

We start our hiking journey after the breakfast and descend to the cool shade of forest and farm terraces and passing several farm villages to reach at Kenja village at 1,634m-5,360ft, Kenja a nice moderate size sherpa village, situated in a warm valley just beneath the high hills of Lamjura and Pikey danda, offering views of Numbur peaks. We start ascending to reach Sete village from here onwards the temperature gets cooler. The distance from Bhandara to Sate is 17 km, 10.5 miles and takes approx 5 hours (Meals; B,L,D)

05Day

Trek to Junbesi (2,675m-8,776 ft) via Lamjura-la (3,530 m-11,581 ft) -06 hrs.

We start ascending and heading towards Lamjura-la pass. There are dense forest of rhododendron, pines and oaks trees and many small farm lands and hamlets. After the steady uphill will get to Lamjura pass. There are a big stupa and lodges, from here a long descend through forest of firs and rhododendron trees all the way to Sherpa village at Toctocr, from here continue walk on the gradual winding path to Junbesi. This is a nice large village inhabited mostly by Sherpa people. There are a old monastery   this village has a nice interesting monastery and a high school sponsored by Sir Edmund Hillary Trust as well.

06Day

Trek to Nunthala (Manidingma) (2,190 m-7,185 ft) - 06 hrs.

After a wonderful time at Junbesi, morning walk leads on the winding smooth path with first glimpse of Mt. Everest with other snow capped mountains, after a break here head down to the river, after crossing the bridge with short climb to Ringmo village, stop here for lunch as time permits after leaving Ringmo, an hour of gradual slow climb into forest of pines and rhododendron trees then reaching at Trakshindu pass at 3,070m-10,072 ft marked with mani and chortens with grand views of Numbur, Kusum Kangguru, Thamersarkhu and Kantega peaks.

From here a long downhill walk to Nunthala through Takshindo village with an old monastery, continue descend through the forest and then reaching a farmland on the outskirt of the village, after reaching the bottom of Takshindo hill a short walk to Nuntahla also known as Manidingma, a large mid hill village of Rai tribe and Sherpa people.

07Day

Trek to Bupsa Danda (2,250 m-7,381 ft) - 06 hrs.

The air gets much cooler as the walk leads closer to Khumbu area after being in the Solu region, morning walk starts with an downhill through forest area to the bridge over Dudh Kosi River, from here crossing the raging Dudh Kosi River, then leading on the slow winding uphill trail to Jubing village, around this area are warm with citric trees and plants, after Jubing following an uphill path to Kharikhola 2,200m, a large village with Sherpa and Magar inhabitants, after a break here heading towards next hill, after crossing a river tributaries of Kharikhola, then it leads to a steep climb for an hour to our overnight stop at Bupsa a small village, located on the ridge overlooking fabulous views of rolling hills and valleys.

08Day

Trek to Surkhe (2,295 m-75,30 ft) - 06 hrs.

From Bupsa a slow with steady walk reaching into Khumbu region as the air gets much cooler from here onwards, morning walk starting with an uphill climb through mixed alpine forest and some small wild and bird life, like pheasant, which is abundant along this area. Walk continues climbing over Kharte Dande pass at 3,880m-12,730 ft high above the Dudh Kosi river, morning walk reaches at Puiyan village at 2,800m-9,186 ft, a nice place in the middle of a forest.
From Puiyan after lunch, walking on the winding trail, with view of Lukla town and its airstrip, from the ridge top, our route descend to Surkhe village for the overnight stop, Surkhe located just below Lukla.

09Day

Trek to Phakding (2,650 m-8,694 ft) - 05 hrs.

After Surkhe morning heads towards the main trekking trail passing Muse and Chowrikharka farm village near below Lukla. Being on the isolated area for many days, from here onwards on the famous route to Everest Base Camp where the trail from Lukla joins at a small Choplung village, walking is easier and pleasant on the gradual path all the way to Phakding with few small ups in between, reaching at Tarhe khola, with wonderful view of Kusum-Kangru 6,369m-20,896 ft, after crossing the bridge with a short climb reaches to Ghat village, from here onwards an hour of pleasant walk to Phakding village for overnight stop by the bank of Dudh-Kosi River.

10Day

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m-11,286 ft) - 06 hrs.

After nearly a week walk, today journey could be long heading uphill at above 3,440 meters high at Namche Bazaar, starting the morning walk crossing few time over the Dudh Koshi, and then reaching at an entrance gate of Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo. After checking the Park & Trekking tickets and permits, further walk leads on the bank of the river, then after the last high bridge an uphill walk for few hours all the way to Namche Bazaar, here we will have two nights in this large prosperous trading town –village as well the main centre and capital of Khumbu area with facilities of ATMs, Cyber cafes, stores, shops, restaurants, banks and fresh bakery with busy colorful interesting Saturday market.

11Day

Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization.

An ideal and perfect place for rest day for acclimatization, at Namche take a short hike up to park museum which houses great range of information from mountaineering, flora – fauna and Sherpa culture and religions, this scenic spot offers a grand panorama of high snow capped mountains including Mt. Everest and stunning Ama Dablam, other options hike to Everest View Hotel for another beautiful views of the surrounding mountains above old Syangboche air strip. For energetic people can take a walk of few hours visiting the sleepy Khumjung and Khunde located on a glacial valley beneath the majestic holy peak of Khumbila the patron god of Khumbu.

12Day

Trek to Tengboche (3,867 m-12,687 ft) - 05hrs.

After a good rest and acclimatization, morning starts walking along a gradual winding wider nice path, maintained by old Sherpa man since last 2 decades doing it voluntarily for goodwill to mankind with small funds and donation from the trekkers passing on this route, walk gets better through conifer and rhododendron woodland, with the striking views of Ama Dablam, the walk further offers striking views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Thamserku and Kwangde peak, then the path descends towards Imjatse river at Phunge Tenga, after a rest here on the uphill path through a nice serene forest to reach at Tengboche Monastery. A scenic spot with awesome views of Ama Dablam, Kangtenga, Thamserku, Kwangde and Mt. Everest, this place is also a holy spot as the head lama (Rinpoche) of the monastery resides here.
In this monastery, mountaineers take blessing from the high lama priest for better success and safe expedition.

13Day

Trek to Dingboche (4,260 m-13,976 ft) - 05 hrs.

With glorious morning views, morning walk leads to a long descend to Imjatse rive passing a small place of Debuche, walking into beautiful birch-rhododendron and pines forest, on reaching the strong steel bridge where the tree lines vanish for smaller juniper and rhododendron bushes, after the bridge a slow climb to reach at Pangboche the last permanent village, beyond are settlement with lodges to serve the trekkers.

The trail leads slowly through exposed landscapes with excellent view of
Ama Dablam at close distance, and then stopping for lunch break at Shomare popular spot for lunch and short break, after lunch on the gentle uphill for few hours and then climb after the bridge for short while to reach at Dingboche located in the wonderful Imjatse valley, after a nice pleasant trek walk of the day.

14Day

Trek to Lobuche (4,930 m-16,175 ft) - 05 hrs.

Upon leaving Dingboche, taking an uphill path to reach at a ridge festooned with prayer flags and stupas, with excellent views of the valley and snow capped peaks, walk is gentle on the slow uphill slope all the way to Thugala for lunch a small place where the Khumbu glacier melts into a raging icy river, here the trail from Pheriche and Dingboche meets, here with stunning view of Taboche, Cholatse, Lobuche, Pumori, Ama Dablam, afternoon an hour to a ridge with many memorials of the late climbers both foreigners and Nepalese mountaineers.

From here a pleasant walk but catching slight of altitude as it leads to Lobuche for overnight stop.

15Day

Trek to Gorakshep (5,170 m-16,962 ft) to Everest Base Camp (5, 364 m-17,598 ft).

Walk this morning can be long to Everest base camp our main destination and highlights of this adventure, taking a slow walk reaching a path close to Glass Pyramid house, a metrological station funded and run by Nepalese and Italian scientists, from this spot a small steep climb reaching at Khumbu glacier, as the walk leads through over moraine of rocks and small icy streams to reach at Gorakshep with views of Mt. Pumori, Lingtrin, Khumbutse and Mt. Everest. After a break here continue walk to Everest Base Camp along the moraine and ice, on reaching at Everest Base Camp after a tiring but exciting walk, enjoy the break overlooking tip of Everest with tumbling Khumbu ice falls close to base camp, around high season for expeditions, this place will be like a Jambore with many colorful camps and busy. After a great moment feeling high return journey back to Gorakshep for another adventure climb to Kalapathar next early morning.

16Day

Hike to Kalapatthar (5,545 m-18,192 ft) trek to Pheriche (4,240 m-13,910 ft) - 05 hrs.

Getting up early morning, trek and climb on a steep uphill to Kalapatthar for stunning panorama view of Mt. Everest with array of surroundings peaks, this will be the highest point of this great adventure at 5,545 m, after a thrilling and breathe taking scenery, downhill walk to Gorakshep and then continue the return journey all the way to Thugla through Lobuche and finally ending the walk at Pheriche valley for overnight stop.

Pheriche a nice settlement just near to Dingboche over the hill towards east, this place with many good lodges with HRA (Himalayan Rescue Association) medical post with superb views of Taboche, Cholatse, Ama Dablam.

17Day

Trek to Tengboche (3,867 m-12,687 ft)- 05 hrs.

After Pheriche a pleasant walk with few ups to encounter on the route to Tengboche, the path leads downhill much of the way through Pangboche village on reaching the bridge with a climb into the wooded area to Tengboche for overnight stop.

18Day

Trek to Monjo (2,880 m-9,448 ft) through Namche Bazaar (3,440 m-11,286 ft)- 06hrs.

Our morning walk begins with a descend to Imjatse River at Phungetenga, after crossing the bridge a steep uphill for an hour then on the gentle winding trail all the way to Namche Bazaar, after a nice refreshing break at Namche journey continues following downhill path all the way to Dudh Kosi River valley, from here with short ups and downs reaching at Sagarmatha National Park entrance and then to Monjo village for overnight stop in this lovely small village.

19Day

Trek to Lukla (2,860 m-9,383 ft) - 05 hrs.

Today the last of this great adventure to end the trek at Lukla, walk leads on the easier path after being on the high hills and valley, reaching Lukla with a last climb for 45 minutes, at Lukla for lunch and last overnight stop, with free afternoon and to organize gratitude and farewell dinner with fellow staff and porters.

20Day

Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

At Lukla the flight operates from early morning to Kathmandu, sometimes the flight time can get delayed due to unfavorable and bad weather, as per the flight time board in a small Dornier or Twin Otter plane for the scenic flight back to Kathmandu, on reaching at Katmandu domestic terminal Trexmount Ventures staff transfer you back to respective hotels in the heart of Kathmandu around Thamel area.

21Day

Kathmandu Free day.

This is a free day to do your own things and or you can do sightseeing tour,  around Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Patan with place of your interest, pay locally.

22Day

Departure for home ward bound.

Breakfast, transfer to Tribhuvan International airport for Departing from Nepal.
