Mt. Shisha Pangma at 8,013 m / 26, 289 ft, located around upper Tibetan vast plateau which is close to Nepal northern border, this mountains clearly visible from south of Kathmandu around Patan area along with Langtang range.

Mt. Shisa Pangma in Tibet, situated south mid east Himalayan range closely linked with Dorji Lakpa and Jugal mountain range of Nepal, out of 14th worlds highest mountains, this is the last of all 8,000 meters mountains listed as 14th high Mt. Shisha Pangma at 8,013 meters.

This mountain is least popular being the last of all worlds, as big budget expeditions focus and concentrate at Everest due to its number one positions,

Trexmount Ventures encourages for this climb and expeditions to Shishapangma which is clean and unspoiled to its environment by visitors and mountaineers, this is the last summated mountains only from May 02nd 1964 by Hsu Ching and team of Chinese, since then it’s getting slowly popular on this less technical climb great bulk mountain Shisha Pangma.

It was sixteen years before this mountain received its second ascent, by a West German team in 1980, and it has been climbed every year since,
the first British to climb were Doug Scott, Alex Mclntyre and Roger Baxter-Jones and Alan Hinkes, famous French climber Mark Buttered via a new route on the South Face in 1982 and onwards.

This wonderful adventure to Mt. Shishapangma Expeditions with Trexmount Ventures starts with an interesting drive towards east of Kathmandu on the Lhasa / Kathmandu highway leading towards the frontier town of Zhangmu in Tibet / China side, from here to Nylam town with few days’ rest and acclimatization at 3,540 meters high, where the barren, windswept world’s highest and largest plateau starts.

This beautiful mountain regarded as “holy” by local Tibetans, which is on route to Mt. Kailash, Shishapangma continues to confuse with its proper name, including some Historians cannot fathom its names – Shishapangma, Xixabangma, Gosainthan, and surveyors seem unable to fix its height (anything from 8,013 m to 8,046m).

After being in Tibetan soil at Nylam, drive leads towards near Laylung la pass at 5,050 meters high with first view of Mt. Shishapangma and its massive range, along with other mountains that borders south with Nepal.

From here on the rough road with few hours to Shishapangma base camp
at 4,900 meters this is the original North West Ridge route, which is more accessible and impartially quite safe, and the terrain provides good camp sites around the high Tibetan Plateau (lying in the Himalayan Shadow).

Trexmount Ventures allocated 16 days climb to the summit of Mt. Shishapangma from the ABC for about 2 1/2 k.m. buttress to reach the North West Col summit to a shoulder, and then reaching the top summit with glorious panorama both side of mountains of Tibet / Nepal, after a great experience of mountaineering and climb of Mt. Shisha Pangma, feeling high, return back to base camp, with a day in ABC for packing and clean up of base camp, next day a scenic drive back to Kathmandu with overnight at Zhangmu before reaching to Kathmandu in the hustle bustle of city life, after a wonderful and remarkable adventure with great service of Trexmount Ventures and its friendly staff, guides.
