Annapurna Base Camp Trek Itinerary

(Suitable for someone who has limited time on their hand)

Day 1:  Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (5-6 hours)

After breakfast, we’ll take a tourist bus to Pokhara to start our quick walk to Annapurna Base Camp. It will take roughly six to eight hours to get there if you take a tourist bus. This event will include a tour bus. Although it would cost extra, 

Trex Mount can also arrange for an aircraft ticket to transport you to Pokhara from Kathmandu in just 25 minutes, giving you more time to explore. Enjoy Pokhara’s stunning mountain-ringed skyline as the sun sets and take in the first day’s journey’s sparkling Lake Phewa waters.

Day 2: Drive from Pokhara to Siwai (2 hrs) and trek to Chhomrong (4 hrs)

Our Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek starts in the picturesque lakeside city of Pokhara on the first day. After a filling breakfast, we’ll meet our driver and head to Birethanti, a small settlement, to pick up our trekking permits. In total, we’ll be on the road this morning for around two hours before arriving at the trailhead in Siwai. 

From here, everything is done on foot, and we begin our trip in earnest as we walk over charming suspension bridges, past dazzling waterfalls, and into alpine meadows where yaks graze and Gurung people care for buckwheat and millet fields. We’ll even start to earn some spectacular views of snow-capped mountains as we get closer to our destination of Chhomrong.

As we settle into our accommodations, you’ll encounter many welcoming Gurung residents in the expansive hillside settlement of Chhomrong. We’ll be staying at a nearby teahouse or hiking lodge. In Nepal, overnight treks are typically completed in this manner, and you’ll benefit from a hearty supper and a comfortable bed. 

You can unwind in the hamlet with a steaming mug of tea once we’ve checked in as darkness falls over the peaks of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and the fishtail-shaped Machapuchare. 

Day 3: Trek from Chhomrong (5 hrs)

As the sun rises over the mountains in the morning, have a great breakfast and a cup of hot tea. After taking in the magnificent vista, we’ll start the second day of our hike. The path for today begins with a stone stairway that descends for nearly an hour to the Chhomrong Khola river’s turbulent waters. 

To get to the other bank, we will traverse a stunning suspension bridge, after which we will spend an additional two hours ascending a second flight of stone stairs. We’ll arrive in the small town of Sinuwa after that, where we’ll stop for a while to take in the breathtaking scenery from 2,350 meters above sea level. 

Day 4 Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) via Machapuchare Base Camp (MBC) 

This day is the most exciting day on the journey. Today we will travel to Annapurna base Camp Trek and we can enjoy a beautiful view from there of Mount Annapurna. To reach to the Annapurna Base Camp we will use trek route via Machapuchare Base Camp

Day 5: Trek from ABC to Sinuwa (5 -6 hrs)

Wait until you see the nearly vertical south face of Annapurna. I bathed in the sunrise if you thought the views from last night were breathtaking. We’ll take our time eating breakfast to really appreciate this event and take in the unmatched beauty of the 360-degree Himalayan views from Annapurna Base Camp.

We’ll pack up our belongings and make our way back to the village of Sinuwa when you’re prepared to depart. You’ll start to understand how the trail takes on a completely different appearance when traveled in reverse as we pass charming homesteads and climb into alpine valleys and lush woodlands. Now that we have started our long descent from the high heights of base camp, the terrain will also be a little bit simpler to handle. We will check in at another cozy trekking lodge after we arrive in Sinuwa, and we can spend the day and evening as we choose.

Day 6: Drive from Siwai to Pokhara or Kathmandu in two hours after a three-hour trek to Siwai 

Today, we depart from Siwai to Pokhara or Kathmandu. Which take around five hours in total.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek Solo

Solo Trek to Annapurna Base Camp Trek is possible. However,  it is not thought to be secure or practical. Group mountain hiking is far preferable to solitary mountain hiking. In the mountains, trekking with a porter or guide will be safer and more sensible. The guide and the porter will soon be ready to assist the guests if something were to happen in the mountain.
